Ignite Review – Is this MLM a Scam?

A multi-millionaire network marketer once said, “It’s not the product but the opportunity that creates your downline.” I don’t remember the guy’s name, but he is probably involved with Ignite Energy, Inc. out of Texas.

Ignite Review

Founded in 2004, Ignite took advantage of the deregulation of energy to allow consumers to make money every time they flipped a switch at home. MLM opportunities were largely born from consumable products such as cleaning supplies, cosmetics and vitamins. When Ignite decided to create a MLM opportunity out of energy, they literally tapped into a sale where discussion of product quality would never come up.

When your opportunity has qualitative competition, there are several sales to make. You have to demonstrate the differences both in value and price of your product over the competition. After your client has “bought in” to the qualitative differences, you may or may not encourage them to share the message by becoming part of your downline.

Ignite Energy bypasses the first step in its entirety. There is no need to discuss any comparison of electricity or gas! As long as it is there when you flip your light switch on, you are pretty much satisfied. It is not as though there is any qualitative difference in electricity!

Does that make the opportunity boring?

Does that make it riskier? When you ONLY compete on price, you run the risk of the extremely powerful energy companies (your competition) rallying their forces and crushing your opportunity like a bug.

So far, Ignite has circumvented this threat by obvious means.

The very nature of energy delivery in the United States has been mass power grids created and maintained by a single monopoly. The very scope and breadth of these monopolies requires vast amount of infrastructure and overhead. It is physically impossible for a monopolistic company like the ones supplying energy in Texas to streamline their operations and compete with a nimble and fast moving company like Ignite.

Ignite officially started operations in 2005 and as of 2009 was voted as one by Inc as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. Indeed, with over $825 million dollars in revenue and being located exclusively in Texas and Georgia this is no small feat.

Don’t let the geographic restrictions damper your enthusiasm. With a combined population of over 34 million people, these two states represent over 10% of the entire population of all 50 states. Ignites’ impressive $800+ million in revenue is only generated by a staff of 269 and 169,000 distributors. As anyone in MLM knows, most of these distributors probably have themselves and their mamma as their entire client base. Suffice to say, the opportunity is massive and nearly totally untapped.

A benefit of being focused in a single geographic zone is the manner in which an agent captures leads. Most people incorrectly assume that internet leads are geographically dumb…that a lead is universal and cannot be filtered by state. Be sure to register for MLM lead spot (By entering your information on the right) so you can learn not only how to generate a consistent stream of leads for yourself, but how to pull ONLY the leads you want-even state specific leads like the ones you would need for an Ignite distributorship.
